Dataproducts Shareholders Act to Protect Directors

Share

Shareholders of Dataproducts, a Woodland Hills-based computer printer maker, have approved a measure limiting their directors’ exposure to lawsuits.

In approving the measure, Dataproducts is taking advantage of a 3-month-old Delaware law giving shareholders the right to protect directors from being sued for negligence. The law is intended to counter the drying up of directors’ liability insurance and the rising rates on coverage that still exists.

Dataproducts also announced that it signed a multi-year agreement to supply equipment to print airline tickets and boarding passes as part of an automated airline reservation system designed by Telex Computer Products of Tulsa, Okla. Dataproducts said the deal is worth more than $20 million and will extend for more than three years.
