U.S.-Soviet Daniloff Trade

Share

The “no-negotiation” policy that our government officials so ardently and vocally proclaim has caused the release of “non-spy” Daniloff after a month’s confinement in Russia, and the public celebrates the happening with the usual media hype and attendant “red-carpet” ceremonies.

Meanwhile, that same policy has left “non-hostages” Terry Anderson, David Jacobsen and Thomas Sutherland (not to mention others more recently abducted) festering under guard in Lebanon’s hideaways for more than a year.

Regardless of what happens henceforth, and the rationale, or excuses, put forth by the innumerable spokesman for our administrators, one indelible impression shall remain: Our government doesn’t give a damn about the “non-significant,” ordinary American citizen.
