Medicare Tax

Share

Just one more way in which the Reagan Administration dips into our pockets.

I am 68 and on Social Security, from which $15.50 a month is deducted for Medicare. I teach adult education classes to supplement my Social Security.

My latest paycheck from the Board of Education deducts money “for Medicare,” as required by law HR 3128 signed by President Reagan on April 7.

When I told payroll service that I was already paying Medicare, I was told: “That doesn’t matter, the law still requires us to deduct for Medicare from your pay.”

Tens of millions of additional dollars are now being taken from seniors who work to supplement their Social Security.
