British police were going house to house seeking witnesses to the killing of a U.S. airman who was beaten by a gang in the Saxmundham village in eastern England. Sgt. Michael Sambogna, 28, of Palisades Park, N.J., a member of a maintenance squadron at a nearby base, died of head injuries after the Saturday attack. He reportedly was walking to a pub with four other servicemen, all in civilian clothes, when they were attacked. The motive was unknown.
