A Long Island jury ruled that Martina Navratilova did not hurt a photographer when she grabbed his camera in a 1982 skirmish, but it did award him $50 for a roll of film she exposed.
Arthur Seitz, 44, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., sued Navratilova for $2 million, claiming that she took his camera and exposed the film in a postmatch incident at the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York. The jury found her innocent of battery against Seitz and not responsible for a calcium deposit in his arm that his doctor said will require surgery.
Earlier, a judge dismissed a $4.5-million countersuit filed by Navratilova, who claimed that the incident had caused her mental anguish.
