Share

As many as 16,000 airplane pilots may be continuing to fly even though their automobile driver’s licenses have been revoked or suspended for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to a published report. And as many as 1,000 of them may be commercial pilots, the Pittsburgh Press said in a report on a study by the inspector general’s office of the Department of Transportation, which compared a list of 700,049 aviators with the names of 4 million motorists listed since 1960 with the National Drivers Registry as having their licenses suspended or revoked for drunken driving.
