Storms that dumped 30 inches of snow on Colorado mountains, hampering a search for a hunter who has been missing since Saturday near Durango, dusted the Great Lakes region and swept cold Canadian air eastward. Temperatures dipped into the 20s and 30s from the Plateau region to the Plains and a freeze warning was posted for northern Arkansas. Cold air spread into the Mississippi Valley and brought rain to the Northeast and Great Lakes. North Platte, Neb., had its second record low temperature in as many days, dipping to 21 degrees. Kansas City, Mo., set a record with 34 degrees, and records were tied in New Mexico, Colorado, California and Texas.
