Lucky Stores agreed to meet with Edelman.

The Dublin, Calif., grocery store operator said in a letter to New York corporate raider Asher B. Edelman that members of its board and Chairman John M. Lillie would meet with him to discuss Edelman’s sweetened $1.89-billion, $37-a-share bid for the company. Lucky, which has undertaken a massive restructuring to discourage Edelman, said its entire board would review Edelman’s offer after the meeting. Edelman has threatened a proxy fight for the company if his new offer, announced Tuesday, is rejected.
