Inland Steel Suffers Loss During Quarter
Inland Steel Industries, one of the nation’s largest steel companies, reported a loss of $4.6 million for the third quarter, blaming the results partly on lower demand and weak prices.
The results were an improvement over the year-earlier period, however, when Inland lost nearly $52 million.
Sales for the three months totaled $785.73 million, compared to $714.85 million a year earlier.
