Whites Reportedly Raid Swazi Offices
Ten armed whites raided a student aid agency and an adjacent newspaper office in Manzini, fired on security guards and fled in South African-registered vehicles, local newspapers reported Friday.
Mnguni Simelane, assistant police commissioner in Manzini, Swaziland’s second-largest city, confirmed a raid took place early Thursday morning but would not comment on other details in the newspaper accounts. The newspapers said there were no casualties. A similar attack was carried out in Manzini two months ago.
Swaziland is a tiny, landlocked black kingdom bordered by South Africa and Mozambique.
