Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. posted record sales and net income for the third quarter and for the first nine months of 1986. All business segments--human health, agriculture, and cosmetics--contributed to the sales growth for the quarter, the firm said. International sales were particularly strong, and, on a worldwide basis, pharmaceutical products experienced the greatest gains, officials added.
