An Anchorage, Alaska, cab driver, angry because the Anchorage Times yanked his full-page political ad, set off smoke grenades in the newspaper building and fired a rifle until the publisher grabbed the gun’s barrel and beat him up. Donald Lee Ramsey, 41, apparently was angered when Publisher Robert Atwood, 79, ordered a full-page political advertisement that Ramsey had submitted removed from the Times last week. The ad attacked Sen. Frank H. Murkowski (R-Alaska), who is up for reelection. Advertising personnel characterized the ad as rambling and nonsensical and said Ramsey’s money was refunded.
