A Quality Quarterback Begins With the Coach

Share

In response to the crying Rams’ fans who claim that the Rams’ “Passing Attack Fizzled When They Gave Young And Mobile Jeff Kemp Away,” I tell them to take a deeper look into the matter.

Jeff Kemp has become a successful quarterback because of the skilled quarterback training of Bill Walsh.

And don’t forget that Walsh coached Ken Anderson during his prime years in ‘74-’75, Dan Fouts, who speaks for himself, and of course, the legendary Joe Montana. Not to say that these quarterbacks don’t have exceptional athletic ability, but a team needs good coaching personnel to fully utilize a quarterback’s talent.

Comparatively speaking, the Rams have gone through a myriad number of quarterbacks over the last five to six years, and wouldn’t have traded Jeff Kemp if they realized his full potential. Well now that the Rams have drafted a gifted quarterback in Jim Everett, let’s see if the coaches can utilize a quarterback’s potential.
