Matrix Corp. Acquires Rank Videometrix

Matrix Corp. has acquired Rank Videometrix, a Westlake Village company that makes video systems used by manufacturers to inspect parts. Terms were not disclosed.

Matrix, based in Rockville Centre, N.Y., bought 85.5% of 5-year-old Rank Videometrix from the London-based Rank Organisation. The remaining stake is being bought from about 30 employees and investors, who are to receive payments over six years.

Rank Videometrix, which is being renamed Matrix Videometrix, employs 42 workers and will remain in Westlake Village, executives said. The company will operate as a division of Matrix’s newly formed Industrial Imaging Business Unit in Orangeburg, N.Y.
