France Welcomes News of Jacobsen Release

PARIS —
France welcomed the release Sunday of American hostage David P. Jacobsen and pledged renewed efforts to secure the liberation of its own nationals held in Lebanon.
“The French government has learned with great satisfaction of the release in Beirut of Mr. David Jacobsen and welcomes this positive outcome,” an External Relations Ministry spokesman told reporters.
Paris is seeking the release of six French citizens still held in Lebanon.
