The U.S. attack submarine Augusta was involved in an underwater accident two weeks ago and is undergoing hull repairs, Navy and Pentagon officials said. A Navy statement said the sub struck a submerged object during a training exercise and went into dry dock at Groton, Conn., so that “minor damage to the underside of the ship” could be fixed. It also said no one was injured in the accident.
