Search teams on Monday recovered four bodies from the wreckage of a Coast Guard helicopter that slammed into a hillside on a tiny deserted island while trying to reach an isolated village on a medical mission.

Two others aboard were missing, and officials planned to resume searching for them today.

The Sikorsky HH-3F chopper plowed into Ugak Island late Sunday on its way to the village of Akhiok, Coast Guard Petty Officer Mark Farmer said.

Two rescue teams were airlifted onto the remote island on Monday.
