The president of Beech-Nut Nutrition Corp. and five others were indicted on charges they sold flavored sugar water labeled as apple juice for babies from 1978 to 1983. The company in a statement denied the charges and said its suppliers had provided phony juice concentrate. The indictment handed down by a Brooklyn, N.Y., federal grand jury said the company shipped adulterated and misbranded juice to 20 states, Puert1864389225foreign countries. Among those charged was Neils L. Hoyvald, president and chief executive officer of Beech-Nut.
