A South Korean fishing vessel was seized at sea and its crew of 56 arrested by the Coast Guard after a fisherman attempted to rape a U.S. observer who had boarded the vessel, officials in Anchorage, Alaska, said. The woman, an employee of the National Marine Fisheries Service, fended off the alleged rapist but was injured in the attack aboard the Shin Yang Ho on Oct. 22, officials said. She was unable to get off the boat for a week after the attack. The 330-foot vessel was seized in the Bering Sea about 90 miles northeast of Dutch Harbor and its entire crew arrested, the Coast Guard said. The boat is being taken to Kodiak, Alaska.
