Here is a region of the world that needs everything: food, medicine, vitamins, pencils, school books, clothing, housing, to say nothing of capital equipment for factories and fertilizer for agriculture. Yet the United States finances these countries to sophisticated fighter planes that will escalate an expensive arms race that they neither need nor can afford.
