Lawyers for eight reputed mobsters on trial in New York on charges of participating in the Mafia’s ruling “commission” ended three days of closing statements by repeating claims that the prosecution had not proven its case. “They’re in the right pew, but they’re in the wrong church,” Frank Lopez, attorney for reputed Colombo crime family underboss Gennaro (Jerry Lang) Langella told the jury. The case was expected to go to the jury Friday.
