The Nuclear Regulatory Commission announced that it is reorganizing its staff to concentrate on nuclear plant operation and maintenance as opposed to plant construction and licensing. Among the planned changes are a strengthened Office of Analysis and Evaluation of Operational Data, which will manage the review, analysis and evaluation of reactor plant performance, the investigation of plant incidents, reviews of generic safety requirements, and the NRC’s technical training center.
