Firebombs Kill 3 Tamils in London
Firebombs were thrown early today into a house in an immigrant neighborhood, setting it afire and killing three Tamil men from Sri Lanka, police said.
About 200 people later demonstrated peacefully outside a police station to protest the killings and other attacks in the area that community leaders claim were racially motivated.
Detective Chief Supt. Alan Jestico said the firebombing “could be a racial attack, but it could be a number of other things.” He said officers from Scotland Yard are investigating the possibility of a political motive.
