A former aerospace buyer was sentenced to 30 days in a halfway house for accepting at least $2,000 in kickbacks on high-technology and military subcontracts. Donald Lloyd Watkins, 39, of Huntington Beach also was placed on three years’ probation and ordered by U.S. District Judge James Ideman to perform 200 hours of community service. The confinement in a halfway house will allow Watkins to work during the day and report to the facility at night. Watkins, who was charged with mail fraud, admitted that he accepted bribes equal to 4 1/2% of the subcontracts he awarded while a buyer for Tecstor Inc. in Huntington Beach and earlier with HTLK West Co. in Santa Ana.
