California’s almond growers reported record sales.

The California Almond Growers Exchange, which markets almonds under the Blue Diamond label, had record sales of $425.2 million for its 1985-86 fiscal year, a 22.3% increase. The cooperative increased sales both at home and abroad, with West Germany, Japan and the Soviet Union as the three largest foreign customers. About 60% of the sales were in exports.
