Britain’s opposition Labor Party has regained a 3.5% lead over the ruling Conservatives after slipping behind for the first time in a year, according to a public opinion poll published in the Daily Telegraph newspaper. The poll, conducted by the Gallup group, showed that 39.5% of those questioned supported Labor, 36% backed the Conservatives and 22% were for the Liberal-Social Democratic Alliance. Polls had shown the Tories surging ahead for the first time in a year to lead Labor by five points.
