Rams Activate Damone Johnson to Replace Hunter

The Rams put tight end Tony Hunter on injured reserve Friday and activated Damone Johnson.

Hunter has missed the last four games with a stress fracture of the shin. He will not be eligible to return to the active roster until the Rams’ season-ending game against the San Francisco 49ers Dec. 19.

Johnson, also a tight end, has spent the season on injured reserve. A rookie from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he was the Rams’ sixth-round pick in 1985.
