‘Nicaraguan Obsession’
Regarding all the derogatory letters (Nov. 9) relating to the Nicaraguan policy of this country and the editorial (Oct. 30), “Nicaraguan Obsession,” which generated them:
It is very disquieting to realize so many Americans do not conceptually understand the insidious evil that sits on our back porch in South America.
It is even more disquieting to realize they probably won’t understand until blood flows in American streets and they will be forced to raise up arms, not only to defend this country against the evil they could not recognize, but to preserve their very lives.
Then I’d like to hear what these people would have to say to the President and the others who are trying to prevent this horror from happening.
Abraham Lincoln was right. America can only be destroyed from within.
