Peggy Say, the sister of hostage Terry A. Anderson, said today that President Reagan telephoned her from Air Force One as he flew to California, and promised her that he “would not rest until Terry was home” from Lebanon.

Say said she received the call this morning at her home in Batavia, N.Y. The call was prompted by a letter that Say wrote Reagan earlier in the week expressing her support for his Iran initiative that led to the release of three American hostages. The letter was sent before the Administration revealed that money from the arms sales to Iran was diverted to help the anti-government rebels in Nicaragua. Say said she did not mention the contra program to Reagan in their phone chat.
