MIGHTY JOE’S METHOD

What’s with all of this to-do (Hollywood talk) about King Kong getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?

Everyone knows that Mighty Joe Young is twice the gorilla actor that Kong is. And even though he’s only made one film, while Kong will work for any Tom, Dick, Dino and Toho, Joe has far more emotional range and works harder on his characterization.

I just hope and pray with every fiber of my being that Walk of Fame boss Johnny Grant, a man with a recognized eye for superior talent and creativity, will see his way clear to, shall we say, grant Mighty Joe Young a place in Hollywood immortality alongside the likes of Spencer Tracy, Ben Casey and Mickey Mouse.
