Comarco Inc., an Anaheim supplier of computer-related products to the defense and aerospace industries, reported net income of $593,000 for the fiscal 1987 third quarter ended Oct. 31, up 3% from the $575,000 reported a year earlier. Revenues for the third quarter were a record-breaking $21.6 million, a 170% increase from the $8 million reported a year ago.

For the first nine months, Comarco reported net income of $1.7 million, up 21% from the year-ago figure of $1.4 million. Revenues of $58.9 million were more than double the $24.6 million posted a year earlier.

The company said its results have been restated to reflect the change to a Jan. 31 fiscal year, and to reflect the contributions of three high tech companies--International Business Services, Decisions & Designs and SDL Corp.--purchased late in calendar 1985.

Jim Quibodeaux, Comarco’s chief financial officer, attributed the higher revenues to increased sales of computer drafting services to the U.S. Naval Weapons Station in Ridgecrest, Calif., and to sales by the company’s recent acquisitions.

Separately, Comarco said Monday that it will provide $5 million worth of cellular telephone equipment to Irvine-based Cellular Communications Corp.

Michael Nasco, Cellular Communications president, said one of the Comarco products utilizes cellular transmissions in non-traditional ways, such as allowing conventional telephones to operate on a cellular system.

The other products, new to the market in 1987, include emergency equipment for roadside call boxes and credit-card phones for limousines and rental cars.
