Iran-Contra Connection: Reagan’s Watergate?
Conrad’s glee (Nov. 26) in comparing Richard Nixon, Robert Haldeman, et al. to the Reagan people and their problem is not only misdirected, but unduly vehement.
Most Americans, whether they believe the President in this instance or not, will not forget that he and those men in the White House, North and Vice Adm. John Poindexter, executed the capture of the Achille Laurel terrorists.
Maybe procedure needs some mending and straightening out, and that is now being done, but it would take blind hostility to overlook the tremendous good deeds done for America by the Reagan staff.
We salute the accomplishments of your work against terrorists, Mr. President.
