Allegations that former Los Angeles County Deputy Dist. Atty. Glenn Stevens, former prosecutor in the McMartin Pre-School molestation case, committed criminal acts--which include conspiring to affect the trial’s outcome for monetary gain and aiding the defense--have been forwarded to the State Bar by the state attorney general’s office. Noting that the attorney general is evaluating a request by 10 families of child witnesses in the case for an investigation of Stevens and a film-making team, Chief Assistant Atty. Gen. Steve White said, “We believe these allegations (that Stevens violated state law) should also be referred to the State Bar’s disciplinary authority.” The letter and specifics of the alleged violations were sent to J. David Ellwanger, chief executive officer of the Bar.
