Double murderer Michael Wayne Evans was executed by injection in Huntsville, Tex., for the shooting and slashing death of a church pianist. Evans, 30, was convicted of the June, 1977, murder of Elvira Guerrero, 35, who was abducted and slain with her fiance as they left church. The U.S. Supreme Court refused to halt the execution after other appeals were rejected. Evans’ attorneys contended that he was insane.
