TOKYO —
Exiled Taiwan dissident leader Hsu Hsin-liang, who has spent four days trying to return home for weekend elections, returned to Tokyo on Wednesday, a day after he was barred entry into his country.
Hsu, who faces sedition charges in Taiwan, ended seven years of political exile in the United States, intending to return to Taiwan to take part in legislative elections Saturday. He and other prominent exiled leaders want to join the newly formed opposition Democratic Progressive Party at the polls.
