Medical Center Pays Tribute to Tower Donors
California Medical Center-Los Angeles and members of the “Downtown Leadership 100” last week paid tribute to the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Foundation for its $5-million donation toward construction of the hospital’s new patient care tower.
The construction of the tower is intended to enhance the long-standing relationship between the medical center--celebrating its centennial next year--and the USC Department of Nursing by providing expanded clinical teaching facilities, according to J. Thomas McCarthy, president of the foundation.
The medical center is a private, nonprofit, acute-care teaching hospital serving downtown and the central city.
