The Athletics Congress approved a resolution that will attempt to get Brian Oldfield, the American record holder in the shot put, eligible for the Olympic Games.
The 41-year-old Oldfield, a 1972 Olympian, has been ineligible for the Summer Games since participating in the International Track Assn., a professional track and field circuit, from 1973-76.
