The Army has suspended most training firings of the TOW anti-tank missile, pending investigation of two instances in September in which casings of launching motors ruptured, the Defense Department said. The training suspension prohibits launching TOWs from any platform except the Bradley Fighting Vehicle or modified M-113 armored personnel carrier, the Pentagon said. Officials have said at least 2,000 TOWs went to Iran in a recent arms deal.
