About 1,000 Arab students and faculty at Birzeit University, shouting pro-Palestinian slogans, protested Israel’s closing of part of the West Bank university’s campus, while Israeli troops wounded at least eight Arabs in similar demonstrations in the occupied Gaza Strip. Four Palestinians have died and 26 have been wounded in a wave of unrest touched off last week when Israeli troops killed two students during a demonstration at Birzeit University. At least 15 others, including Israeli policemen and foreigners, have been injured. In Gaza, the army said one of the wounded protesters, a 16-year-old, was shot in the head and thigh and was in serious condition at a hospital outside Tel Aviv.
