A newborn baby boy wrapped in a T-shirt and a small white blanket was found in a paper bag under bushes in Lawndale, authorities said. The baby was in good condition at a Hawthorne hospital, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy Drew Basey said. Daniel Huerta heard noises coming from bushes next to his house, Basey said. “He investigated the noises and found a grocery bag in the bushes containing a newborn baby boy, approximately two to three hours old,” the officer said. The umbilical cord was still attached to the baby, who appears to be Latino, Basey said. The child will be placed with the county Department of Children’s Services.
