The action by the Public Utilities Commission will add $2.66 a month--a 7.4% increase--to the typical electric bill for residential customers using about 500 kilowatt hours per month. Because of a rate restructuring, the bills for small and larger users will decline. Residential customers using less than 330 kilowatt hours per month will see a 2% decrease, while those using more than 1,000 will see a 4% decline.
