Ceradyne Inc. Acquires Atlanta Ceramics Firm

Ceradyne Inc. of Costa Mesa said it has acquired an Atlanta ceramic manufacturing company for $4 million in stock and cash.

Ceradyne, a high-technology ceramics maker for the defense and electronics industries, bought Thermo Materials Corp. for $3 million in cash and $1 million in stock, said John Carberry, Ceradyne’s chief executive officer.
