Blue Cross of California named Kenneth Kaczmarek senior vice president and chief financial officer.

The Woodland Hills-based health insurer, California’s largest, said Kaczmarek replaces Roy Heimberger, who resigned in June. Kaczmarek was previously senior vice president for financial services with American Family Life Assurance in Columbus, Ga.

The 40-year-old CPA is a former All-America linebacker at Indiana University and played in the Rose Bowl in 1968. USC won the game, 14-3.
