The family of a young woman allegedly strangled by her “preppy” date in New York’s Central Park agreed to turn over her diary to a judge, who will decide whether the defense may use it. Jeffrey Newman, the attorney for the family of Jennifer Levin, 18, had planned to appeal an order by state Supreme Court Justice Howard Bell to see the diary, but the family decided to comply with the judge’s request. Jack Litman, the attorney for suspect Robert Chambers, 20, claims he was told by prosecutors that the diary chronicled Levin’s kinky and aggressive sex habits.
