Norwalk : Water Rate Rise Opposed
The City Council approved a resolution Monday opposing a proposed general rate increase for customers of the Downey-based Park Water Co.
The company--which serves 7,000 residents in Norwalk and Bellflower, and 4,500 customers in Compton--is asking the Public Utilities Commission for an increase of 17.8%, its first in three years, said Thomas Snodgrass, general manager.
The commission will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Jan. 7 in the City of Paramount’s council chambers.
