Westwood : Heart Transplant Reunion

UCLA Medical Center’s heart transplant program, the first of its kind in Los Angeles, sponsored a holiday reunion Monday for former patients, their doctors and members of the medical teams that assisted in the surgeries.
The patients range in age from 19 to 66. Thirty-one people have received heart transplants at UCLA since the program started in 1984, according to Dr. Hillel Laks, program director and chief of cardio-thoracic surgery at the UCLA School of Medicine.
