South African security forces shot to death three black men--part of a group that had stoned a patrol vehicle--in the black township of Nzanany in eastern Cape province, while a fourth black man was burned to death by a mob in the township of Kwazekele, outside Port Elizabeth, the government’s Bureau of Information said. It also reported that a mob of 20 blacks poured gasoline on a woman in Johannesburg’s black township of Soweto and set her on fire but that she escaped with minor burns.
