What Didn’t Reagan Know?

Share

I fully agree with Jefferson Morley’s article (Opinion, Dec. 21) “Contra Operations: Heart of the Scandal.” President Reagan’s obsession to overthrow the Nicaraguan government, even by resorting to killing all Nicaraguans and by destroying that small country, has been the overriding issue of his foreign policy. His Iranian affair is but a consequence of this obsession. . . .

Will the Congress of the United States, which represents the interests of the American people and which is the guardian of the prestige of this great nation, stand idle and not put an end once and for all to this immoral, illegal and inhuman policy that is maiming and killing so many human beings in Central America?

The money and moral support being given to the murderous contras should stop right now!
