What <i> Didn’t</i> Reagan Know?

Over and above the law-bending, covert actions, high-level ignorance and incompetence, the ultimate crime brought to light by the Iran arms scandal is the matter of “the merchants of death,” as described by Colman McCarthy (Editorial pages, Dec. 19). He is to be commended for his scathing and informative piece.

We must bow our heads in shame thinking of what the billions--maybe trillions--spent on arms could be doing for the needy of the world.

What a tragic, cynical commentary on the “Year of International Peace”!
