Is Anyone Hiring?

Today you report that one company laid off 1,000 employees.
Yesterday, someone laid off 10,000 and tomorrow another company will terminate perhaps another 15,000.
Isn’t anyone doing any hiring any more?
The Great Communicator keeps reassuring us that we live in the era of plenty that he so craftily brought about, but I’m beginning to suspect that what’s ahead for us will make the Depression of the ‘30s look like happy days were here again.
